Israel arrests two men on suspicion of spying for Iran

Israeli security agencies have detained two men, accusing them of spying on Minister of Military Affairs Israel Katz on behalf of Iran. Officials claim the suspects conducted surveillance near Katz’s home. Iran has not commented on the allegations.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Israeli authorities have announced the arrest of two men suspected of spying on Israel’s Minister of Military Affairs, Israel Katz, on behalf of Iran.

According to a joint statement by Israel Police and the Shin Bet security service, the suspects—Roy Mizrahi and Almog Atias, both 24—were detained in late April. Officials claim the two men were involved in intelligence-gathering operations.

The statement alleges that Mizrahi and Atias monitored Katz’s movements in Kfar Ahim, a community in the southern occupied territories.

Israel’s Hebrew-language outlet Ynetnews has reported that the men were instructed by Iranian agents to purchase a camera for live video surveillance and install it near Katz’s residence.

Iran has not issued any statements in response to Israel’s allegations.

Last week, Israeli security agencies claimed they had arrested a 16-year-old on suspicion of spying for Iran in exchange for money.
